About ACCA

ACCA or Association of Chartered Certified Accountants is a global professional body for accounts. It is a member of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC). ACCA Global aims at offering business relevant accountancy and finance related qualification. It has more than 188,000 members and 480,000 students across 178 countries.

ACCA Papers

The ACCA qualification consists of four modules:

Fundamentals

Knowledge Module: 3 Papers
Skills Module: 6 Papers

Professional

Essentials Module: 3 Papers
Options Module: Complete 2 out of 4 papers

Eligibility Criteria

The minimum requirement to start the ACCA Qualification: Secondary School Education (10+2) covering 5 subjects including English and Maths or equivalent qualifications. If you don’t have relevant qualifications (no prior qualifications) you can start with Foundations level. There are multiple entry points to ACCA Qualification which means you don’t have to give all 14 papers. Based on you previous qualifications, you can claim exemptions to skip the Fundamentals level (First 3 or all 9 papers) which allows completing the qualification sooner.

Requirements for Becoming an ACCA Member

To become an ACCA member, you will need to complete

Fundamentals and Professional levels (of 14 exams nine are eligible for exemption)

3 years’ work experience in a relevant role

Ethics – the Professional Ethics module

In 2016, ACCA introduced four exam sessions a year, providing aspirants greater flexibility to schedule their exams at a time and pace that suits them.

These four exam cycles a year are for both CBE and paper-based exams. Aspirants are allowed to take a maximum of 4 exams during each exam cycle across a maximum of 8 distinct exams over the course of a calendar year.
